Tehran thanks Pakistan for voting against anti-Iran resolution at UN

TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has, in a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for voting against an anti-Iran resolution at an emergency meeting of the United Nations’ Human Rights Council in Geneva.

In a biased and politically motivated move on January 23, the council adopted an anti-Iran resolution backed by the United States and Arab countries.

The resolution was approved with 7 votes against, 25 in favor, and 14 abstentions.

China, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Cuba, and Vietnam voted against the resolution.

During their phone talk, the two top diplomats also discussed the latest regional and international developments as well as Tehran-Islamabad relations.
